The historic sites of the Ypres Salient and The Somme provide an invaluable experience for students, giving them the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the Great War. Developed with the full support of The Royal British Legion, the tour will not only help your students to understand the actual events that took place in Belgium and France, but also the wider social, political and economic implications of World War One, providing a fascinating perspective of this key period of world history. You will be able to visit some of the most poignant and important sights of the Somme and Ypres Salient, in the company of our highly knowledgeable guide.

Menin Gate School Hotels, Ypres
This group of 3 well known hotels are superbly located in the historical centre of Ypres, just a few minutes walk from the Menin Gate and the Cloth Hall.

Hotel Munchenhof, Ypres Region
Located in Langemark, 20 minutes drive from Ypres, the Munchenhof has been modernised throughout and has excellent facilities for school groups, including a bowling alley.

Ypres Lodge, Ypres
Just on the outskirts of Ypres and 20 minutes walk into the centre the Ypres Lodge combines a great location with excellent recreation facilities.

Oude Abdij, Ypres Region
The ‘Old Abbey’ is located in the small village of Lo Reninge, a 20 minute drive from Ypres. This quiet location combined with superb hospitality makes this is a favourite for school groups.

Hotel Poppies Albert, Somme Region
Owned by the Menin Gate Hotel group, this hotel is purpose built for students visit the Somme region. Its just a 5 minute walk into Albert and a short drive to all other Somme visits.
