01 Tour Highlights

The Bayeux Tapestry

The Bayeux Tapestry, a unique document, produced during the 11th century, is a wool embroidery on linen fabric around 70m long and 50cm high. It tells the story, in pictures, of William the Conqueror and the Norman invasion of England in 1066.

Le Mont Saint Michel

Built between the 11th and 16th centuries, Le Mont Saint Michel is a remarkable mediaeval walled city, crowned by its great gothic-style Benedictine abbey, and counts among France’s most stunning sights.

Le Mémorial de Caen Museum

This memorial and the museum is dedicated to 20th century history and houses three permanent exhibitions from the origins of World War II and the D-Day Landings to the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.

Bread & Cheese-making

At a local bakery your group can actively take part in the bread-making process and gain an understanding of the different stages of production. At a goat farm they will learn about the speciality cheeses of France, be shown how cheese is made and have the opportunity to taste. Either can be explained in French or English.

La Cité de la Mer

Dedicated to human adventure under the sea, the interactive exhibitions at this venue include Le Redoutable, the largest submarine open to the public, “Titanic Back to Cherbourg” a museum experience dedicated to the Titanic and the history of migration, and the seabed in the Abyss Aquarium, one of 17 themed tanks.

Maison Familiale Bon Sejour

This purpose built youth centre in Merville-Franceville has direct access to the beach. With an abundance of facilities for school groups its recommended to book early as it is very popular with school groups.

Les Tourelles

Youth accommodation built around a manor house in Asnelles-sur-Mer, just 3km from Arromanches. You can also access the beach directly here.

Eisenhower Hotel

A traditional French hotel located pretty fishing port of Port-en-Bessin, close to all the major tourist sights of the Normandy coastline.
