New for 2021, ‘A Career in the Arts’ is a residential education programme based at Disneyland Paris, a world class entertainment and leisure destination. The resort is part of Disney Destinations and leads the way in combining technology with live entertainment.

The Experience

This exclusive new seminar at Disneyland Paris is an exciting opportunity for students to gain a unique insight into a career within the arts and essential development of life skills to support a successful career path.

It features a seminar with inspiring speakers with the option to add interactive workshops tailored to specialised areas within the arts. Students will receive 1:1 guidance from our speakers and the opportunity to practically work under guidance in whatever area of the arts students are interested in pursuing.

There is also the chance to add an interactive workshop to your study trip for an extra £10 per person, which will be interactive and engaging with our key speakers tailoring sessions to their areas of specialism within the arts. Students will receive 1:1 guidance from our speakers and the opportunity to practically work under guidance with our speakers, whatever area of the arts students are interested in pursuing.

Accommodation

Morning

Depart early morning and travel via Dover – Calais ferry crossing.

Afternoon

Arrival at Disneyland® Paris. You will be met by the Study Experiences resort team who will assist with check-in and will be available throughout your stay to assist with any questions

Evening

Free time in Disney® Village. We recommend that you pre-book one of our meal deal options.

Day 2

Morning

After breakfast you will attend the seminar session from 9.00 till 12.00.

Afternoon

Take part in an interactive workshop led by our guest speakers - workshop is optional at an additional cost of £10 per person

Evening

We recommend that you prebook one of our meal deal options. Then enjoy our exclusive evening Disco.

Day 3

Morning

After breakfast you can enjoy unlimited access to both Disneyland® Park and Walt Disney Studios® Park with your One-Day Hopper Ticket.

Evening

Morning

After breakfast depart for your journey back to the UK.

03 Optional Workshops

This exclusive new seminar at Disneyland® Paris is an exciting opportunity for students to gain a unique insight into a career within the arts and essential development of life skills to support a successful career path. The way we do this is by getting our specialist speakers to talk to students about their careers, how they are successful, where their career path has taken them and the diverse opportunities available within the sector.

The additional cost is £10 per paying person.

Performance
For those wanting to perform some routines, Sara will be critiquing with some practical guidance and advice to each. Drama and dance students will be given practical choreography advice from Sara.

Key outcomes:

  • Technical training and performance development
  • Develop a range of theatrical skills and apply them

Musical Performance & Expression

Yaron Engler will work with students who have musical interest and undertake a practical session with drums, allowing an expressive, fun and engaging musical session. Allowing for expression and group performance.

Key outcomes:

  • Explore and develop vocal skills,
    performance disciplines and styles
  • Participation as a theatre maker
  • Developing sound cues

Sound and Lighting Design

Lawrie will talk and demonstrate sound and lighting techniques and students will have the opportunity to practically work within the the sound and lighting areas of the venue.

Key outcomes:

  • Develop the creativity and independence to become effective theatre makers
  • Develop lighting design plans and lantern schedules

Costume and Set Design

Anna will discuss with students about costume and set design, students will need to bring current portfolio design ideas & concepts to the session and Anna to critique and discuss these in detail and offer more practical advice and support.

Key outcomes:

  • Develop final costume designs for characters, incorporating hair, makeup and mask considerations.
  • Develop the creativity and independence to become effective theatre makers.
