Yangtze River Cruise

The Yangtze River is the longest river in China, and the third-longest in the world. To cruise on the river is highly enjoyable, not least because of the change of pace and perspective that travelling by boat provides. The dramatic scenery, the distinct rock formations and, in particular, the breathtaking cliffs of the Three Gorges, provide a truly spectacular and inspirational experience.

The Three Gorges stretch over 200kms, varying from 300 metres at their widest to less than 100 metres at their narowest. Quatang Gorge, at 8kms long, is the smallest and shortest, although the water flows most rapidly here, and many visitors consider the scenery here to be the most dramatic. Wu Gorge is about 40kms in length, and the cliffs on either side rise to just over 900 metres, topped by sharp, jagged peaks, including Goddess Peak and the Peak of the Immortals. The third gorge is Xiling Gorge, which at 80kms in length is the longest of the Three Gorges.

During the cruise you will also have the opportunity to visit the controversial Three Gorges Dam. Our excursion to the Dam Observation Deck will allow you to gain the best possible view of this huge project.
