From Mont Saint Michel to Giverny, Etretat to Caen, Deauville to Rouen, Eu to Cherbourg, Normandy has a treasure trove of history and heritage for your students to experience and explore. There is a wealth of educational and cultural places to visit and activities for them to take part in.
Normandy is a land created by history, from William the Conqueror to World War II, whose unspoilt coast and countryside have universal appeal. The abundance of cultural and historical places to visit in the region can help support the specific requirements of any school group.
Expanding your students’ cultural awareness provides them with valuable and memorable experiences. Visiting world famous attractions and spending time in a new environment with their fellow classmates builds confidence and strengthens relationships between students.

The Bayeux Tapestry
The Bayeux Tapestry, a unique document, produced during the 11th century, is a wool embroidery on linen fabric around 70m long and 50cm high. It tells the story, in pictures, of William the Conqueror and the Norman invasion of England in 1066.
Le Mont Saint Michel
Built between the 11th and 16th centuries, Le Mont Saint Michel is a remarkable mediaeval walled city, crowned by its great gothic-style Benedictine abbey, and counts among France’s most stunning sights.
Le Mémorial de Caen Museum
This memorial and the museum is dedicated to 20th century history and houses three permanent exhibitions from the origins of World War II and the D-Day Landings to the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
Bread & Cheese-making
At a local bakery your group can actively take part in the bread-making process and gain an understanding of the different stages of production. At a goat farm they will learn about the speciality cheeses of France, be shown how cheese is made and have the opportunity to taste. Either can be explained in French or English.
La Cité de la Mer
Dedicated to human adventure under the sea, the interactive exhibitions at this venue include Le Redoutable, the largest submarine open to the public, “Titanic Back to Cherbourg” a museum experience dedicated to the Titanic and the history of migration, and the seabed in the Abyss Aquarium, one of 17 themed tanks.
Our prices are based on a minimum group size of 40 and maximum 49 students. Travel arrangements are based on providing your group with exclusive use of a 48, 49 or 53 seat coach. For groups of between 20 and 40 students, we are able to offer travel by coach for your exclusive use, however we will need to charge an appropriate small group, coach under-occupancy supplement. As schools located in the north of the UK can require a longer period of coach hire, a small regional supplement may apply.
NEW - Choice of Crossing
We can arrange crossings from Portsmouth to Caen for a supplement.
Your group will stay in one of our carefully selected hotels. Our range includes properties such as the Hotel Ibis Caen Herouville Savary, the Hotel Campanile Virel, the Ibis Rouen Sud and the Campanile Rouen Barentin.
Your package price includes continental breakfast each morning and evening meals. For lunches your Study Experiences Tours Specialist can pre-book packed lunches for you.
